Dr. Ebony Joy Wilkins
I am excited to feature Dr. Ebony Joy Wilkins, an author, educator, writing coach, speaker, and colleague whose work I have (secretly) admired for many years, not only for the knowledge and creativity she brings to her work but also for what
she stands for: the importance of voice, representation, storytelling, and helping others recognize the power of their own stories.
Through books such as Zora, the Story Keeper, If You Traveled on the Underground Railroad, Sellout, and Simone Biles: 5-Minute Genius Stories, Ebony creates opportunities for young readers, particularly Black children and youth, to see their histories, experiences, brilliance, and possibilities reflected in literature. Her commitment to storytelling also extends beyond her books through her work as a writing coach, keynote speaker, corporate trainer, and founder of Curriculum Cafe.
I invited Ebony to share a little of her story with Educación con Amor, and what she wrote feels less like a traditional biography and more like a letter to anyone who has a story waiting to be told.

I first met Verónica Ramos when our
paths crossed at National Louis
University, where she joined our
ESL/Bilingual Education team in the
Educator Preparation Program.
From the beginning, I was impressed
by the wealth of knowledge she brought to our students, her dedication as an educator, and her advocacy for bilingual and multilingual learners.
After several years of working together, I remember when Verónica shared that she was going to take a break from teaching. Little did I know that this next chapter would lead to ¡WEPA! líbros. I have had the pleasure of following ¡WEPA! since its early days and watching Verónica and her team turn a commitment to multilingualism into a growing organization connecting children, families, educators, schools, and libraries with authentic literature from around the world.

Featured Author: Susan Schulhof
I am excited to feature Susan Schulhof, an early childhood educator, professor, and author. Susan and I worked together early in my career, and she served as my coach when I became an education coordinator. I was always inspired by the care she brought to her work as an infant teacher and later as an education coordinator.
Of all her books, my personal favorite is Little Stone House on the Corner, an uplifting story about dreams, belief, action, and the courage to follow the guidance that moves us forward.
